About Dr. Hartman
About Dr. Hartman
Dr. Hartman has over 20 years of experience treating children with a variety of presentations and backgrounds. Dr. Hartman received her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her post-doctoral work at Weill Cornell Medical College where she joined the faculty and received prestigious research and teaching awards.
Dr. Hartman is the founder and creator of a comprehensive social skills group psychotherapy program for children from preschool through middle school. She trained many professionals across disciplines as well as taught in medical school, post doctoral, graduate, and college settings. Her background also includes early childhood and primary education and experience in school settings. Dr. Hartman's extensive training and experience enables her to offer effective, informed, and personalized care.
Treatment Focus
Dr Hartman's approach of meeting every child and parent where they are and building upon their unique strengths, interests, and talents is evident from the first session.
Parents will participate in an intake interview to gather important background information. Parents and clinician will collaboratively determine the most appropriate next steps.
Dr. Hartman's approach includes developmental and cognitive-behavioral perspectives.
Dr. Hartman works collaboratively with a child's entire support team including family, school, and related disciplines.

She is licensed in NJ and NY and is a Certified Group Psychotherapist
Goal
Parents, children and clinician will work collaboratively to establish treatment goals to help develop the competence and confidence to grow, achieve, and continue to move forward.
